Design work is ok, not great Lots of management training, spreadsheets and controls - not a lot of design conversation Favoritism runs high Big raises go to those who threaten to leave, otherwise it’s likely just cost of living People who have been here a long time, talk about the past like my pop pop talks about the good old days.

To clarify a few of your points: we continuously benchmark our salaries/benefits against the industry and find we are at/above industry standards. All companies across all industries are experiencing turnover as we come out of the pandemic. It seems that incorporating more trend-forward designs could lead to even better results, but as a newcomer, I found it challenging to overcome the established methods and the specific direction and style clients wanted. Nonetheless, they consistently delivered solid outcomes.
