-Advancement is based more on how much you are liked rather than job performance. I have seen multiple people be put in charge of things that they have no experience in, while other people in the group who have experience with it are passed by. How you are perceived here is what is most important. - Non-collaborative environment. - Motivation and innovation are wasted here. Management leads with an unquestioned authority. They don't like people who question how things are done or suggest new better ways of doing things. Just do what they tell you to do and you will do well. - You will be bored. The work load is minimal, and some weeks you will have literally nothing to do. Most people just pretend to be busy in order to impress management. - General lack of technical knowledge. I was very unsatisfied by how little my colleagues and management knew about analytical chemistry in general.
