My journey with Chewy started three years ago when I joined CarePlus. Since then, I've watched this department transform from a budding pet insurance provider into a strong contender in the industry. Like any growth story, CarePlus has encountered its fair share of challenges. During this time, I've also worked on developing my skills in this role. At first, there wasn't a clear roadmap or set procedures; it was mainly about doing our best and figuring things out as we went along. Our leaders at Chewy worked hard to create a roadmap for serving our customers best and producing the results they expect of every agent. They also created many resources and tools to help make CarePlus a stronger brand. Despite the obstacles, I've found this role a breath of fresh air. Coming from a property and casualty insurance background, where interactions often felt quite transactional, Chewy has taught me the value of a personal touch. Our current leadership is exceptional; their kindness, insight, and innovative approaches have pushed CarePlus forward. I'm especially grateful for my team lead; she has always believed in me and treated me with respect.

There was a period at CarePlus when a senior leader tried to reshape the culture by prioritizing transactional interactions and focusing strictly on numbers. While there have been moments when some coworkers and even leaders didn't always act as kindly as I hoped, I've generally felt heard when I voiced my concerns about these situations. Thankfully, those people didn't stick around for long. There was a time when I thought about moving on from Chewy, but I'm glad I didn't give up.
