Favoritism - the rules do not apply for the employees management likes. There is a 3 tardy policy for a verbal warning and any more you enter the disciplinary process. I know an individual with 8+ tardies, still on their verbal warning and another employee with only 2 on their final written warning. Engagement - the LOVE throwing this word out. They use it as a way to congratulate employees they like and it's a catch all to punish employees they have a problem with. I was told by management and hr that it doesn't matter if you are good at your job, if you are not what they perceive as "engaged" they do not want you. I excelled in my department and helped other departments when I could, never saying no and was still told I was not engaged. Incompetent leadership- this company company would rather look for "yes men" rather than people who are competent at what they do. The GM of my warehouse was a school teacher a couple of years ago and was chosen over an employee who has more than 20+ years of warehousing experience. The company wanted the sunny, wont push back disposition of the unqualified rather than an individual with a realistic sense of what the job will entail, difficulties and all. Cybersecurity- they do not take this seriously at all. They have usernames and passwords posted online for business accounts, they assign easily to guess passwords to employees and do not require changing them, keep server rooms unlock and more. When these concerns were brought up to management they responded that these were not problems.
