code uses freely available open-source libraries. A fun stack to work on especially if you're into LLMs.
Minpunten
The flagship product was designed and implemented by the CodeValet's CTO, a Nathan Trudeau. As you might expect from an autodidact who skipped college, the code is low on readability, maintainability and proper design. The CTO is a recluse, regularly missing stand-ups and being whimsical/moody when it comes to responding to questions. With this young hot-headed CTO, you gotta calculate the risk of every observation you make no matter how urgent or cogent it may be. If you miscalculate the risk and cause the CTO unintended embarressment, he'll lash out: like a drill sargent screaming straight into your face only via text and audio (we're all remote) All of the above made for a miserable experience for me; tirelessly working crazy hours trying to get the core functionality of the flagship product to run as per the demo with whatever scant help I managed to squeeze out of the CTO; To top it off, no matter how many bugs I fixed, an unplanned - unreviewed commit from the CTO gets pushed and the team is asked yet again to rebase their code only to restart that endless retesting/bug fixing cycle all over again. Even though the manager was informed of this chaotic pattern many times, I was the one receiving the manager's ire and blame for any and all delays, the CTO being my manager's superior. When confronted, the manager consistently failed to justify their abusive behaviour. I was fired after six weeks of hard work. "productivity" was used as an excuse to reject around one third of my total hours. I was beside myself and am considering legal action.
