Pluspunten
Some nice people to work with and sounding boards. Some of the developers and architects are really hands on. Able to work from home until policies changed in mid 2024.
Minpunten
Communication - the communication within Codec is mostly done through back channels and Chinese whispers. Often people were not told things directly from sales or management, but instead found out via the grapevine. Leadership - overall the Leadership seems out of touch with what is going on within projects and delivery teams. People and HR - there is a severe lack of HR leadership and presence throughout the company, ensuring that everyone is held to account on values. There are virtually no formal processes which can leave people confused and in a grey area, what goes for some people does not go for all. Attrition - at certain times during my time here it felt like someone handed in their notice every other week, and for a small company the teams really felt this. The issues causing attrition were never raised or addressed by management in my time there. Poor benefits - in comparison to Codecs competitors the benefits are very outdated. Chargeability- if you hear this word once, you hear it all the time. Often quality was at the back of the line compared to chargeable hours, or focus on people and development. This doesn’t create a positive working environment, and many people feared what would happen if their chargeable hours were down from what they should be.
