Management is not evil, but isn't consistent. Management's drive for process-oriented solution delivery is undermined a lot by management stepping in frequently to break process and support last-minute (literally, last minute) exceptions and scope changes to software in the process of implementation. This enables clients to expect changes to committed designs the day of go-live, and to expect 'hot' changes to production systems. If there's any push-back by delivery teams, clients know they can escalate to management, and delivery teams will get thrown under the bus. Delivery teams get thrown under the same bus if the last-minute, untested changes result in problems as well. Lack of clear standards and message. On my last day, I was asked why meeting notes weren't in a particular format. I'd never seen/heard of it. In the 8 months I worked there, my boss missed all but one of the boss-employee one-on-one meetings. I never had a review of any sort, or any feedback, other than positive, encouraging feedback from the CEO. Resource shortages are common. They are staffing up and taking that seriously, so it should be better going forward.
