To eliminate any favoritism, all hiring is done by committee and decisions are documented using a web-based management system. We also post new positions internally before they are advertised. The layoffs cited were strategic and allowed us to maintain a balanced budget and, most recently (2017), eliminated several management positions to free up funds to raise salaries of direct care staff by an average of 25%.
