Pluspunten
You get to work with some amazing and unforgettable people; the folks on my caseload and throughout the residences all had a real spark of humanity in them. And my peers in case management/service coordination and most of the residential aides were very good people.
Minpunten
The managers were nonexistent, and whenever an issue came up they told me I had to call the police. So there I was trying to be a caseworker and advocate to my client, and at the same time I would be tasked with calling 911 on them multiple times a week. And I will never forgive my bosses for ghosting me, ignoring calls, texts, and emails for days after I reported the physical abuse of a resident from one of the staff. But he had been working there for many years, and when he worked 'there was never an issue,' therefore a favorite employee of the management. There could be so much done to improve people's lives, service-users, workers and residents alike, but the organization only cares about numbers.
