Pluspunten

I worked at Concrete Strategies as a Recruiter. One of the best aspects of the company is its association with Clayco, which brings strong name recognition and exposure to large, high-profile projects.

Minpunten

Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing. The leadership team appeared to be heavily profit-driven, often at the expense of people and culture. Despite strong messaging around safety, I witnessed significant turnover within safety roles, which raised serious concerns. The company prides itself on safety, but in practice it often felt like more of a façade than a true priority. The interview and hiring process promises a lot, but much of what is presented does not materialize once you’re inside the organization. From an HR perspective, I observed several red flags that made it difficult to feel confident in leadership’s commitment to employees. While there are good individuals at Concrete Strategies, the culture overall lacks warmth and support. It did not feel like an environment where people were truly valued long-term. I also had to repeatedly reference the company handbook in conversations with my manager when seeking opportunities for growth. For example, when I requested tuition reimbursement—something outlined as a benefit—it was declined and framed as being entirely at the manager’s discretion. This lack of consistency between written policy and actual practice further reinforced the disconnect between what the company promotes and what employees experience.
