Pluspunten
I enjoyed working with my team whilst I was there. Apart from that, there are no positives to working at Convertize, aside from the repeatedly mentioned 'character building'.
Minpunten
- Their interview process was mostly irrelevant to the role and long-winded. - How the company is run and managed is very different to how they want you to perceive it externally. - I could relate my experience at Convertize with all of the other negative Glassdoor reviews. - I was not given any sort of induction to my role - just expected to get on with it. I was introduced to my team by receiving copies of their CVs and their personality test results... - The 'culture' is non-existent – this ‘start-up’ culture is a load of rubbish. The office was always silent. The only thing they do to engage staff is a ‘monthly breakfast’, but you had to go in early for it… - The comments they keep stating on here about Convertize being a ‘challenging and enriching environment’ is just their way of saying they will take advantage, micromanage and bully you. - More than half of the company were interns (there will probably be a response from them after this is posted correcting my figures and something about 'we do have interns from Top European Universities' which they like to copy and paste repeatedly. I apologise if they have adapted their modus operandi to include more than a handful of permanent staff...but I doubt that is the case. - During my short time there, the interns were treated poorly. ‘Management’ calling an intern the stupidest girl in the world, is sexist and discriminatory, as one of many examples. - 'Management' are married, which I only think added to the level of unprofessionalism, politics and nepotism. Nothing you say is confidential. - The management structure is a complete totalitarian dictatorship. The majority of staff work in fear. ‘Management’ were constantly changing their minds, getting involved in minutia and micromanaging, which makes productivity very challenging. - I was told that I was expected to work more than my contracted hours, which is illegal. I then felt pressured to stay later every day after that to avoid future confrontation. The majority of employees work later out fear of retribution. - They do not have any regard for employee welfare and will fire people without reason or warning.
