I'm three months in. Regional otr driver. The pay is middle of the road, other drivers with different companies make more than I do. However, it's a fantastic trade off for me. I consider myself a mostly patient person, but once I cross a certain point I can be a little hot headed (I own my own crap). The dispatch there is amazing though, they have a knack for talking you off that ledge. I can not stress it enough THIS COMPANY RESPECTS FAMILY TIME!! This is a HUGE trade off for money to me. I make enough working for them to support 5 dependant kids, spoil my grand daughter on the way and live comfortably. So the pay isn't awful! The dispatch is wonderful, nice and fair to their drivers (I haven't dealt with many dispatchers but I've heard horror stories about other companies.) You can trust that here, they will work with you and they are reasonable. They try, they get you home when they say they will. The company all together for the most part has been a very great experience for me. If you're all about making the big bucks and don't mind crappy dispatch, you might fair off better somewhere else (something for everyone). But if you're looking for a great career in driving, to make decent pay, great benefits, and a decent balance for work/family life, I'd give them a try. Trucks are comfortable, nice new and clean mattresses and this company goes out of their way for their drivers, DOT pretty much leaves you alone because the company is fast to keep their trucks running at peak for bother performance and safety.

Sometimes you will get put with general freight and that leaves the companies hands at that point. Your dispatch is going to be at the mercy of a broker and can't do much to help you. This is a rare occurrence from my experience, but it does happen. In the meantime they do everything in their power to help you be more comfortable. Brush up on those backing skills, some of the places you will have to go to will force you to be good at this. Most of them aren't bad, but there's a couple out there that will have you blocking roads etc, back into gated areas (on a 90).
