Positive culture is dependent on the team. Had a nice cafe with decent food. Some bosses would let you work from home. COVID forced everyone to be home for a little while. Pay was survivable. You are working a lot of hats, so you need to be flexible, but that also means you'll learn a lot and can take on new opportunities. DISH is reputable and everyone knows it, which is why it's a great resume booster. Some really nice, good people work here. 2 stars for all of the things I learned and the nice people.
Minpunten
I'll try to keep these constructive cons. To summarize, DISH does not care about you, the employee. Charlie (former CEO and chairman) has an initiative that is centered on the success of his new wireless business. The purchasing of Boost Mobile and being approved as the "fourth wireless player giant" are part of that. So when COVID hit, and the governor forced everyone to work from home, this completely took a hit on DISH's entire established structure. DISH operates a 9am-4pm core hour system in the office, with accrued PTO, and WFH was only dictated by team and manager. Then business started tanking. So what happens when you have this pressure to become the 4th wireless carrier? You do layoffs. Probably close to 1,500 people were let go over the last few months because of this initiative. All I'm saying is, if you want to be a part of a learning experience, focused on opportunity, or are early in your career, this is a nice place to start. But anything else, including your well-being, is a huge toss up. They are forcing employees back into the office. They need to be profitable, and they're not. Take this for what it is, but if you get a job here, spend a few years here and leave for another organization. You'll find it's better that way. Don't count on DISH to have your back for any reason. They will, at the end of the day, take advantage of that fact that you are just the pawn into their grand scheme of success. They want to become the next ATT, Verizon , Amazon, and it will be done but on the broken backs of its employees. I would steer away from this company if I were you. Everyone there is sad and stressed, and I don't think you want that.
