There are many smart and hardworking people across the company who care deeply about the mission and want the business to succeed. The company has grown quickly, which creates opportunities to work on high visibility projects and collaborate with teams across multiple regions. For people earlier in their careers, it can be a fast paced environment where you gain experience quickly. The annual performance bonus structure is fair and when targets are met it can be a meaningful benefit.

New employees are required to submit a positive Glassdoor review within their first 30 days, which makes overall ratings less reflective of factual longer term employee experiences. The company has grown quickly, and in some areas leadership practices have not fully evolved with that growth. Several members of the executive team have been with the company since the early startup phase, and the management style that worked when the company was smaller can feel difficult to sustain at the current scale. This can create a lot of pressure throughout the organization, with expectations and urgency often cascading down through management layers. Within some departments, particularly marketing, the environment is highly hands on and heavily micro-managed. While there is a general direction, teams are frequently asked to pivot, investigate new ideas, or pursue initiatives that change quickly or more often lead to no fruition, which can slow progress and make it difficult to maintain focus on longer term strategy. Pluspunten

Good team and strong product with a clear market fit. There's interest, pain, and market demand for the services that DataDome provides. There's a collaborative culture and support even amongst different teams. Most folks are more than happy to step in and help where they can with a strong motivation to win together. It's a fast-paced environment, and great for folks who are proactive, self-motivated and want to take ownership. Good environment to build and grow.

This company operates as a bait-and-switch. Candidates are sold an appealing vision that ultimately rests on weak management and a lack of integrity. My experience at DataDome started positively, which in hindsight feels intentional. New hires are encouraged to write a review within their first week, when everything appears supportive and well-organized, and expectations are minimal. However, once the first month passes, the reality becomes clear. Management relies heavily on micromanagement and motivation tactics that involve repeatedly “dangling the carrot” without meaningful follow-through. Promises of growth are discussed, but not delivered. I witnessed frequent instances of silent promotion: employees were given additional responsibilities and higher expectations without corresponding promotions, compensation increases, recognition, or development support. Team members asked for career ladders, coaching plans, and clarity around growth, yet managers consistently fell short of providing any concrete structure or accountability. Overall, leadership seemed far more focused on extracting more work than on investing in their people. If you are looking for a company that genuinely supports career development and follows through on commitments, proceed with caution.
