Minpunten
Datix starts your off with an 100mph over view of 3 complicated systems (Epicor, Salesforce, Dynamics) then gives you a "mock project" which add very little to their rapid overview. Then they have you take classes on the Epicor platform despite their primary work being in integration and CRM. After about a month and a half in they have you start billing clients. The whole "training" experience, if you can call it that is terrible and unhelpful. Worst of all you are then expected to bill clients despite being unqualified. This could be overlooked if you were supported during the course of your work but you’re left to flounder in that regard as well. You are hastily trained for 25% of the tasks you are asked to preform and the consultants are too busy to provide any real help that allows you to learn anything. Frequently their mood/attitude makes them difficult to approach and ask for help. When you do sit down with them to talk about issues you are effectively met with “this is a hard job with long hours sort it out yourself”. Finally one of the worst parts comes in regards to working with clients. As a BA you the primary one talking to clients/holding meetings with them and this is incredibly stressful and unprofessional due to the lack of training/support. As a result turnover for this position is high. Finally the “culture” is sad. Illustrated perfectly by a sad lonely pool table that gets its own office space yet never gets used. The office is quieter than a library leaving you to work staring at a wall/computer in total silence. Headphones are a must if you’re going to keep your sanity. It’s hard to say why the office culture is so dead but I think it’s driven by the high turnover for the BA position and the lone wolf attitude of the consultants. Overall I would definitely avoid working here as a BA. Datix may think the turnover is the result of the exist of poor performers but in reality it’s driven by some fundamental problems.
