The trucking industry can be unpredictable at times.

It’s a job, it gives you pay for a lot of work

No holiday pay, you work most holidays, very disorganized in management and Dispatch, no breakdown pay, they’ll always find a reason for you not to get detention pay, they don’t pay actual miles driven, trip planning is very difficult because they don’t line up things in advanced then notify the driver about them, they don’t give you all the trip details( whether or not it’s a drop and hook) , they have a laundry list of fines. The company charges the driver for things that may or may not be out of their control. Most weeks are six day work weeks, but you’ll only work about four those days so you sit unpaid for the other two , you are expected to only be home for 34 hours then Dispatch expects you to be on call making home life very difficult. , the pay is what is advertised with no future raises.
