Pluspunten

The company as a whole, globally, has a great culture. People do recognize your talents and capabilities. The saving grace is the entry-level employees who understand each other, have a common goal, and are all very united. This is especially important since the workplace can be very challenging, and employees can only rely on each other for support.

Minpunten

Typical red flags you would find in a toxic 'we are a family' culture that the APAC president wants to cultivate. It has created so much unnecessary politics and favoritism. If you are competent and professional, avoid this office. If you excel at playing the corporate game, this is the place for you. You know something is wrong when your best employees are leaving in the middle of a recession. The company turns over the majority of its workforce every other year. It's alright if the leaders don't have the best knowledge or technical expertise. However, it is not alright when you have to deal with a president who has been promoted internally without real-world experience in running a proper company and has the temperament of an 8-year-old, going at you when things don’t go smoothly. Management is always finding a black sheep to blame but never look themselves in the mirror. This creates a toxic culture where employees can only rely on each other for counselling, since HR and management are so disconnected from the ground. As a result, management and top leadership don't provide employees with the support they need. There’s a reason leadership and management have been with the company for a very long time and won’t be leaving: It's not because they don’t want to, but because they can’t survive out there in the professional world. Having said all these, I still have love for ESET as a brand and a global company. More check and balance are needed to ensure fair treatment of employees.

Pluspunten

The company spends a lot of money on events and parties which are fun to attend.

Minpunten

My experience with ESET has been extremely frustrating. Day‑to‑day decisions seemed driven more by internal politics than by performance or merit. Advancement and visibility often appeared reserved for a small inner circle, while strong contributors outside those relationships were overlooked or ignored. There is a persistent sense of nepotism and favoritism, which makes it difficult to stay motivated or believe that hard work would be recognized fairly. Transparency around promotions, pay, and leadership decisions felt lacking, and feedback was often vague or inconsistent. Over time, this environment eroded trust and morale. If you thrive in political environments or already have the right connections, you may do fine here, but for employees expecting a merit‑based, objective workplace, this can be a very disappointing experience. Would not recommend to professionals looking for fairness, accountability, or growth based on performance alone.
