Pluspunten

The worker bees are smart and eager to learn more. Benefits are average. Great response and resources around COVID-19 for employees. Great ERG programming . Great and diversifying offerings.

Minpunten

Executives lack empathy and expect people to be mind readers. Many execs have huge egos for people that barely lift a finger to help. Edelman’s diversity strategies are around women (white) women they are laser focused around gender parity and nothing else. Many people at Edelman are afraid of change and are in roles b/c they put in their time not b/c they are qualified to do them.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I'm glad to see you've felt our COVID-19 response and resources areas strong and that you think well of our ERG offerings. I don't agree with your assessment of our diversity strategies but agree we should do more, and we will, including ongoing cultural competency training that covers implicit bias and racial sensitivities. We do actually have a formal mentorship program to all levels but it sounds like that's news to you, so we need to market it better. Since your post and in the wake of George Floyd's murder, we've committed to even more robust focus on combatting racial inequities and ensuring our leaders are held accountable to that expectation. I worked with some of the brightest and best people in the business. Most of them are no longer with the company. Some good clients, and nice office space.

Minpunten

Very limited opportunities for growth. During my time they reduced promotions to only once a year, and made many excuses for promoting as few people as possible (despite becoming the first "$1B" agency at that time). Morale was extremely low. People were forced to come into an office with nobody they actually worked with. Common to be passed from manager to manager. At one point I had 6+ managers within a 10-month span.
