Pluspunten
Edelman offers everything any entry-level worker could ask for from a large, established company: building and sharpening basic writing and professional skills, opportunities to network and establish meaningful professional relationships with clients, media and vendors across a wide range of industries, and a good balance of tasks requiring research, analysis, and creativity. Add to that an extensive worldwide network with opportunities for international transfer and exchanges, world-class thought leadership and IPs, and an inspiring global leadership team, Edelman truly stands out as a near perfect company for kick starting just about any career, related to PR or not.
Minpunten
The hierarchical structure often influences work culture and the office in Shanghai has little to no interaction outside of work. Team bonding activities are rare, though teams do tend to be close after surviving insane stretches of late nights at the office. Compensation is minimal, but again, for an entry level position it could be worse. Lastly, though the lack of work-life balance is part of any agency's work culture, Edelman truly values delivering quality work to clients above all else, even if that means occasionally sacrificing the health of those providing the work.
