Pluspunten

Worked with some really great people, who unfortunately have the same outlook. This caused a lot of negative (and hilarious) "water cooler" talk.

Minpunten

EdgeWave has been, and most likely always will be the laughing stock of the cybersecurity industry. Email solution is OK, but still gets beaten out in deals by competitors that actually take part in the Gartner Magic Quadrant. Web security solution is 20 years behind. You're better off having nothing in place. It can't even stop a 5th grader from going to a porn site. The Huawaii firewall... well, it's a Chinese firewall. This is the United States, and China is one of our biggest adversaries when it comes to cyber warfare. When you are trying to sell a Chinese firewall to a company in the US, how do you think that deal is going to play out? Oh yeah, and I think they fired the only person that knows how to install them.

Pluspunten

There are some very nice people, people worth knowing well on a personal level working for St. Bernard. Employees enjoy engaging in activities over lunch together, and it's easy to make friends. Sales staff is incredibly capable.

Minpunten

In two years, engineering had roughly 5 different managers. The chaos did not lend itself well to product development; the product itself is a great deal behind its competitors in most respects, and the company lacks the funds required to catch up or leapfrog the competition. If the economy rises, there will probably be investment funds available to keep it going for a while, but it will always have the specter of an inferior product looming over its future. It will likely need to find a niche or a different way to exist that does not involve attempting to build and sell enterprise-level equipment. Tons of political backstabbing among department heads and mid-managers... it's better than it was, but it needs to stop permanently; those who report to the CEO need to be on board with what the company needs to do to survive. For the most part, things have seemed that way, but the political games are causing good people to look elsewhere for employment.
