Management tactics do not empower employees. Employees are responsible for boosting their own morale. Emotional manipulation/use of fear/toxic behavior is often used as coercion to leave or to decrease self-confidence in the event you say or do something that challenges their norm. There is no formal HR department for employees to voice concerns, only upper management, who also happens to determine salary. Employees that show potential or that can handle a lot are typically overworked to keep things low cost.
