Great way to get good experience at a tech level. Interesting projects and decent work. Honestly can’t dismiss how useful the experience was.
Minpunten
This place fell apart without Kim Carpenter. Office politics feel like an episode of Game of Thrones. Bullying and harassment in the workplace will never be addressed even with a paper trail and several HR complaints- unless it’s on the basis of a legally protected group expect no help and even then expect a bandaid solution with no actual repercussions to the person doing the harassing. Pay is insultingly low and the benefits are just as expensive as paying for Covered California. If you are a full time employee you will not be given the hazard pay or health and wellness pay associated with working on military base or disaster relief area so expect to be making $6-7 less an hour than the techs you’re crew chiefing. No work-life balance- you will be expected to work even during scheduled time off. Expect to be thrown into projects with little to no training. Management actively complains about paying anything over $45 a day per diem even though the federal rate in most counties is $60 and over. Almost no upward mobility- if your goal is project management only take a project management position when you’re at that level. Most PM level candidates were hired from outside the company with very few promoted from within.
