This was hands-down the worst professional experience I've had in IT. Fastdev presents itself as a Swedish outsourcing/development company working with European clients, but the reality is far from professional or forward-thinking. No clear development path or goals: There is zero structured vision for projects, teams, or individual growth. No one could articulate desired outcomes, roadmaps, or even basic priorities—everything felt ad-hoc and reactive. No real DevOps culture: Despite claiming to implement DevOps workflows, it's just old-school sysadmin work with zero understanding of modern best practices (CI/CD, IaC, automation, monitoring, etc.). Infrastructure is chaotic, undocumented, with no plan for improvement or scaling. Incompetent and bizarre management decisions: Leadership seems completely out of touch. They fire experienced developers while hiring HR staff and non-technical roles in large numbers—odd priorities for a company supposedly focused on IT and DevOps implementation. Suspicious ties and workforce composition: A surprisingly high number of Russian employees/nationals, even post-2022 sanctions and while serving European clients. This raises serious questions about compliance, security risks, and why such heavy reliance on Russian talent persists in a Swedish-registered company handling EU work. It felt off and unprofessional. Overall, the environment is disorganized, directionless, and mismanaged. If you're a serious dev/DevOps professional looking for growth, modern practices, or a stable company—avoid Fastdev at all costs. It wastes your skills and time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Since it’s outsourcing, a lot really depends on the project you get. I was working on a technically challenging project with complex tasks. At the same time, there are also projects that are simpler and quite basic - it’s very project-dependent. Salary is okay for the market. Great people! international team.

There was a period with cost-saving, salary freezes, and some layoffs, some team mates were let go. Also, sometimes you might be offered more basic projects that don’t really match your level of expertise.
