Decentralized management allows for quick growth in the company for those who show drive and provide results. Pay usually follows where sales occur.

Minpunten

Senior management is a 'boys club'. They will ignore results if they do not like you and promote their buddies over the most qualified candidate. If you are good at your job you get to do others' jobs as well and there is no incentive for reaching and exceeding goals. Simply a pat on the back and a 'do it again' mentality.

You get to meet great people along the way. POS system is a great tool.

Fastenal does not do performance reviews. Trying to get a raise is near impossible. When you ask for a raise they upper management says that you need to sell more..... Fastenal seems like it's trying to weed out there tenure employees and higher college grads with no experience and little pay to replace seasoned personnel.
