“Unlimited PTO” is great if you choose to use it and your manager allows you to take those days off. They will try to have you work. Cold brew? Snacks? Ping pong table? Hybrid - 2 days WFH and that took work to get back. Lots of talent throughout the organization. Some amazing people are left. Great location a couple blocks from the beach.
Minpunten
The current state of the company is a dumpster fire. Management doesn’t know what they are doing. They make hasty decisions that end up blowing up in their face. This causes a lot of mistrust across all levels of the organization and frequent changes to the organization's internal structure. The commission structure just keeps getting worse the more time drags on. They will keep finding ways to cheat you out of money while also trying to pay you the minimum. I had to drive almost an hour to work just to get paid $24/hour base pay. That’s low considering they are located in one of the most expensive cities in San Diego. They burn money on unnecessary office spaces when they only need one office space with the amount of people still working at SD Office. It's a joke. So many people have either been laid off or driven out over the last couple months. It’s pretty much impossible to make commission unless you have a large book of business and that takes time to build. When I asked for a raise, I got shot down everytime no matter how much effort I put in. The decision was not on my direct manager rather the director who was not in office and didn’t see my day to day efforts. When asked what I could improve on to get to the next step in my career I was told I was doing a great job already with the resources I had. I worked there for about a year and a half and my pay remained the same. Speaking another language that is beneficial to the company or taking on additional tasks outside your job description will NOT get you a raise, just a pat on the back. This company does not care if you are hard-working, dedicated, etc. If you join this company, you will just be another “face” in the office. The company culture is very toxic. Unless you are part of a clique, your time at Flock will not be pleasant. Cliques will shield you from layoffs or help you get a promotion. Managers will do anything to please their high performing reps regardless of whether or not you follow the rules MANAGEMENT set in place. Workflows are the main issue that contribute to this problem and there seems to be no focus to fix it. Their focus is on the next fancy feature for their online self serve platform. There is a lot of conflict between the Customer and Carrier side. Some people will not own up to mistakes and just point fingers at each other. This does not get anyone anywhere and most of the time just makes the problem worse. Instead, just act like adults and try to find a solution to the problem at hand. Using Slack and answering messages is not that hard. To make their employees “happy” or boost morale they try happy hours, occasional food catering, or spirit days instead of offering raises to their employees. Let’s be real, in this economy a raise would be great considering how much prices have skyrocketed on everything. Please do your research. Read the reviews. Talk to former and current employees and make a decision on joining the company from that. Again, an absolute dumpster fire.
