Benefits, friendly co-workers, and until recently, PTO
Minpunten
Company expects paralegals to churn out work without any incentive, much less any positive feedback. Senior management and attorneys are quick to play the “blame game” without taking any ownership over their oversights and their limited time in the office. Managers have not been trained properly on how to delegate work, which ultimately becomes the problem of the paralegal or assistant paralegal. The company creates and supports an environment of anxiety, where an individual feels unable to take small breaks to get water, coffee, or use the restroom without some sort of judgement or repercussion. The only positive side to the firm was the flexible PTO, which was recently changed to where an individual is forced to dip into their PTO if later than a total of 30 min throughout the week, despite the fact that the individual has worked multiple hours over what is asked of them (how else are you supposed to get all of your work done - except you aren’t supposed to work more than 40 hours either). HIGH TURNOVER RATE. How can they expect to keep staff when they feel under appreciated and unheard?
