Great product idea. Initially positioned well against competitors. Mostly friendly people. Remote working with a SF office to visit/meet at.

Minpunten

Grossly inexperienced and unsophisticated leadership. Tech development never advanced. Overhired off the back of only an $8 million Series A round. Failed Series B round lead to multiple layoff rounds and pivot to a non-competitive business model. Horribly secretive with the entire staff. Overall a good idea failed to succeed due to fundamental and standard practices and common sense.

Colleagues had a lot of potential and were great

Company lacks vision in what they're doing and what their customers want. The company shifted from an SDK, to a exchange, to thinking about maybe becoming an ad agency? I don't know how but intrinsic ads got lost somewhere along the road. Systems and processes always changed for no apparent reason, leading to team wide confusion. Lots of red tape to ship code for how small the team was. There's a lot of layoffs that happen, leading the survivors to start thinking about job security and less about customer needs or building things long term.
