I was brought on as a contract to hire, they kept extending my contract but wouldn't hire on and wouldn't let me go because they need someone to do this job. Playing a game of 'wait and see' if you make it through to the annual budget to get hired on - stringing along for multiple years. No sick pay, no PTO, no insurance, no benefits as a contractor. They don't want to commit to you. Any attention from upper management for doing your job well means micro-management. My advice, get in, get what you need, and get out.
