Great hands on work, especially for those just out of school. They do a great job of recruiting engineers or those with technical backgrounds and putting them in leadership roles right away. It is great if you have a techincal background but don't want to spend your days sitting behind a computer. If you work for GMI as a Team Leader, you will be out on the production floor, working with employees and also working with senior management on strategic decisions. When you start, you will be managing employees and having a direct impact on the company within no time. You will be able to keep production lines running and making decisions quickly. It is rare to be out of college for only a few months and be able to manage people, but General Mills does this. They push you and give you lots of responsibilities but do provide an excellent support structure and resources while you are new. They also do a great job of netowrking and sending people to other areas (especially if you are in a small town) so you can meet many people holding leadership roles throughout the company. Finally, the pay is great and very competitive. Salary is good and the bonuses are good as well.

Locations (primarily in the midwest). Also be prepared to work more than 40 hrs a week. If you work at a plant, plants run 24 hrs a day (and most during some weekends), so you will have to work some off shift time as well. But sometimes working offshift can be fun but you need to learn to balance you work and life.
