Pluspunten
Majority of non leadership coworkers are amazing to work with. There are a lot of people at the bottom who are dedicated to students and teachers.
Minpunten
This company used to be great but has lost sight of the what made it great for teachers and employees. Used to be mission driven to provide a high quality education to every student and people working there reflected that, but the new CEO has redirected it to be revenue driven, which has resulted in a noticeable drop in employee morale and the quality of the decisions being made. No one on the leadership team has an education background anymore, it’s all rich tech C-Suiters who are very obviously trying to wring the company dry before selling it. Since the new CEO Rich came on board there have been more layoffs. Additionally, the entire DEI department was dismantled and fired because our straight white CEO said it’s not needed and then proceeded to be condescending to women employees and told us all to smile more on camera. When asked how the company would improve employee morale, the CEO used his response to announce he’s eliminating the much beloved holiday break (it also doesn’t answer to the question?) He claims “winning” companies don’t give their employees holiday breaks, so neither will he. That should give you an idea of the type of person running this company. There are no raises, no opportunities for promotion, and no oversight or consequences for incompetent and toxic leaders. There is a culture of leaders blaming everyone underneath them when they mess up or change their mind - and if you have an opinion that is counter to a leader’s, get ready to get fired. It’s really a shame that these places don’t value their people anymore - they’re going to lose a lot quality employees in the coming months.
