One of the biggest challenges is that career growth appears to depend heavily on the manager's perception rather than transparent, measurable outcomes. This can create inconsistencies in performance evaluations and promotion decisions. The environment can be particularly challenging for employees returning from maternity leave. Even years after returning, there can be a perception that past career breaks continue to influence performance assessments. Low ratings often make promotions difficult and can leave employees feeling undervalued despite their contributions. When I joined the company , the culture, growth opportunities, and employee experience were much better. Over time, however, I have observed a decline in these areas, making it a less supportive and rewarding workplace than it once was.
