My experience working for a franchise was far and away the worst of my 18 years in the hospitality industry. There’s no direction, and you will find yourself cleaning up a mess that's never been fixed in years. No one truly has business acumen, and most importantly, it’s family-run, so there’s no real leadership. Very toxic environment, especially being low-balled on competitive wages and a bonus that’s almost changed whenever the owners and consultants feel like it. I have only been in the company for 2 months. Discrimination and poor working conditions; forget about having Human Resources to help you out, because there isn’t anyone or a team.
It would be in your best interest to look elsewhere, especially if you have a successful career trajectory, and this company is known for bringing in new leaders to bait and switch them into quitting or even getting fired.
