Some of them have personalities that become borderline caustic when their ideas are questioned. Some end up using the "it's my way or you're stupid" method of getting what they want. Some use conjecture, hearsay and fear based assumptions of previous events as fact. Somtimes the views of the specialists in their field are opposed by others with no experience who may "just not get it" or others with just enough experience to think they're right and so, progress is often slowed if not stopped altogether. Ignorance and hubris combine to stop potentially profitable or helpful projects from moving forward because they're not mainstream enough or resemble previous experiences too closely for some to feel safe. The unending compromises and desire to make everyone happy leads projects to dead ends and final products are sometimes milqeutoast as a result. There are some who talk of teamwork, but only practice it when everyone plays by their rules. Some come up with ideas based on unresearched or untested assumptions and treat those ideas as sure winners. When evidence is presented in opposition to that treatment, the zealousness with which they adhere to their treatment increases. Overall, I fear ego will be this company's undoing.
