If you are applying for the Help Desk position I encourage you to ask to see your work environment, you will be sharing an 8x8 cube with two other women. This cube is next to the "LAB" where they work on computers, the noise is extremely loud making it very difficult to talk with customers over the phone. You will also be interrupted several times a day by your coworker’s one who talks all day long about personal issues. There is no communication between other departments like the network team and desktop support team. The network team will push updates out not notifying the help desk and you are left to deal with all the calls from customers wondering what the new icon on their desktop is. Expect to be strapped to your desk answering call after call. Management will tell you in the interview that the help desk takes about 20 calls a day but that just isn't true. The help desk is very much like the staples "that was easy" button, they take every kind of call most calls non-technical.
