Pluspunten

One of the strengths of Hallmark Labs is that they appear to be desperate to hire almost anyone in a tech-related field. In that vein, this is a great place for people looking to start a new career, improve their resume, or chill at a job where everything moves at a snail’s pace and nothing really matters. If you can handle bureaucratic corporate insanity, you might even be able to stay long enough to be promoted from within – earning you a nice new title or two for when you eventually try to get the hell out. Just don’t expect any monetary reward for your troubles, as Labs seems to pay far lower than nearby workplaces.

There are so, so many problems at Labs. But the biggest issue is the insane corporate control from Kansas City (or KC). If I were to describe the people of KC, I would call them sociopathic, power-playing middle-Americans who don’t understand a single thing about digital businesses. And unfortunately, they treat Labs as a means to further their own personal and short-sighted agendas, harming all of the Los Angeles employees in the process. What’s worse, is that KC appears to refuse to learn, admit fault, or take blame. They seemingly enjoy punishing Hallmark Labs and its workers for their own failures – including mass lay-offs, insane workplace restrictions, and inane focuses on pointless projects and “innovations”. And throughout all of this, KC doesn’t appear to listen to a single iota of feedback from Labsters in any step of the way – they just keep pumping out one failed project after another. Meanwhile, Labs’ senior leadership team doesn't show a hint of a backbone. I've only seen them roll over, accept each and every terrible decision that comes their way, and reprimand their workers when they try and speak out or fix things. Avoid this place at all costs. Toxic workplace, thy name is Labs.

Hallmark’s change in leadership at the corporate level has resulted in strategic shifts at Labs that we request everyone have patience and understanding in. That is why our Core Staff has made noticeable efforts in offering transparency when communicating company changes to all Labsters.

Unlimited vacation, innovation competitions, community projects, great office culture, lots of employees who care about quality and each other

Minpunten

Corporate doesn't listen to their employees. While valuing their customers, they don't share the same concern for the employees; the constant approach is how do we get more from the employees for less. They don't value innovation or have a solid business plan other than to hope that non-core-consumers adapt to what they're offering their current consumers like. There's no evolution in adapting to today's consumer landscape.

Opportunities are abundant at SpiritClips. Ambition, hard work, and ability to deliver are paramount for each individual. The office environment is bright, and it's come a long way in the past two years. There's always been a culture of individual growth, and it's becoming more and more refined. The company is evolving before my eyes! The people in this world that love to work hard and try new things will find this company fulfilling. Getting to know these people is the best part of working at SpiritClips. The ability to drive change is another great positive of this company. This doesn't mean the company will adopt all attempts to change, but most of the Senior Management are all ears of positive changes that can be made to better the products, organization, or themselves. The Senior Executives including the CEO will get to know your name, and talk to you during breaks about life. They greet you with smiles most of the time, and genuinely care about every employee of the company. Last but not least, the products that are managed by SpiritClips have a common theme "Making meaningful connections". In a world where "social" became staring at your phone, SpiritClips works tirelessly to make life more meaningful. There's still a long way to go, but I go to sleep every night knowing my day was spent trying to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
