The employees were highly talented and motivated young professionals, but were stymied by the company culture. Nonetheless, it was really great to work closely with them, even if the situation itself was unpleasant. Further, the stated mission is really unique and wonderful, though in practice, it was almost never fulfilled.

The president (the company's only management) was unclear about what was expected, and would frequently cancel projects after months of preparation, on a whim. She would also compliment program organizers to their face, while trashing their work to their fellow co-workers behind their backs - completely unacceptable period, but particularly unprofessional in an office with only a handful of staff. Staff meetings frequently ended with employees in tears. Board members had little interest in the success of the organization and frequently quit because of frustration with the organization's president and founder. Finally, the turnover was relatively high, because president tried to shortchange employees constantly, offering ridiculously low salaries and trying to strongarm people into accepting even lower, through tactics like asking about their rent prices, etc.

The office is pretty small so sometimes things got kind of slow
