Pluspunten
The workplace culture is positive and fostered by the employees rather than HR or management. There is high morale, with frequent after-work social events and strong connections between coworkers. There is also a lot of positive energy during the workday via Slack, with a focus on motivating and encouraging employees to perform their duties well. This job provided me with valuable sales experience and the chance to learn about the healthcare industry. It is also located downtown, which was a great opportunity. I formed strong relationships with my coworkers and was able to earn bonus pay during the AEP season, even though it was extremely mentally and physically exhausting.
Minpunten
This workplace lacks a moral compass, leading to a culture that prioritizes high sales numbers over individuals' healthcare needs. Management views this as a means to achieve targets set by higher-ups, rather than a problem. Employees frequently face ethical dilemmas and must choose between doing what is right and meeting leadership's expectations to make sales, often resulting in manipulation or exploiting clients by reducing their much-needed coverage or services. There is no remorse shown for these actions. In some seasons, employees are required to work beyond their regular hours and may face verbal reprimands if they are unable to do so due to personal commitments such as childcare or other real-life issues. Additionally, some employees have reported being misled during the initial interview process, with promises of no cold calling or significant sign-on bonuses that were never delivered.
