Even though it can be challenging as well, the pace in this company is insane. Any product gap almost immediately gets built after a brief discussion that everyone can join in on. Colleagues in every role can have a direct impact on product and company's direction, and in general, as long as this is substantiated well, everyone is being listened to and challenged in a positive way. I've never worked with colleagues that are this driven to make the company and product a success. Everyone is very supportive and kind, and there is barely any ego or arrogance involved, apart from the strong confidence in the company's product. The CDP market has a high momentum, where many customers are looking for a solution. The types of customers are very diverse, all sizes, across all industries, making the work a lot more interesting. You hear directly from our customers what great direct impact the product makes for them.
Minpunten
Hightouch is operating in an increasingly competitive market, in which the company is playing in two leagues at the same time: Competing against 'the big guys' and against smaller new entrants that claim to do the same. This makes the work diverse, but also challenging. A lot of knowledge of the broader playing field (that constantly changes) is required, but combining that with a heavy workload (lot of volume + high deal sizes) makes it tough to get a good work-life balance. With highly motivated colleagues throughout the company giving it all they have, this also means it is hard to 'unplug' from work, as it continues 24/7 having employees all over the globe. With also a high volume of new products/features being released and deals to work on, there are never really any "breaks" with a lower workload. It might have to do with the phase of the company and market, but it sometimes feels like the company's strategy is "we're a start-up, we'll see". I'm often missing views from leadership on GTM strategy with the product and prioritization (doing everything everywhere does not seem sustainable for the long-term) and expansion plans. That said, I'm sure this will come with time and getting into new phases. It sure is dynamic and nothing is set-in stone.
