Great benefits and good work/life balance.

Minpunten

Culture of toxic positivity that discourages speaking up. Hard to take risks and move fast with too many meetings and substantial, lengthy review processes from PMs, stakeholders, marketing, and legal. Very little to no UX research and few opportunities for growth.

I genuinely love working at Hometap. The company combines innovation, transparency, and a true homeowner-first mission in a way that feels refreshing in the financial services industry. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and filled with smart people who actually care about improving the customer experience. As someone with a background in mortgage licensing and operations, I appreciate how forward-thinking and solutions-oriented the company is. Leadership encourages communication, growth, and accountability while still maintaining flexibility and work-life balance. It’s exciting to work somewhere that’s building something different and meaningful.

Minpunten

The company moves quickly, so there's definitely a learning curve at first, especially when joining remotely. But the team is supportive and the fast pace also makes the work exciting and engaging.

* Favorable comp plan where even 1% over target gets you into accelerators * Good benefits and matching 401K * Management is quick to resolve issues, I.E. a payroll issue for myself was resolved in a matter of “days” when brought to HR’s attention * Genuine people that care about the mission and guiding homeowners through our process

Minpunten

Take the cons with a grain of salt from 1 star reviews. The truth lies often times in the middle of the 5 star and 1 star extremes: * Yes, 2025 was a difficult year with some months where less than half the floor hit goal. Management reduced targets by a good margin to compensate and now over half the floor hits goal, probably closer to 70% of the floor lately * Lead flow can be erratic at times, however, goals are set in part due to prior weeks and months of lead quantity * Not sure why folks feel this place is full of “toxic positivity”. Would you rather everyone be cold, calculating, and mean spirited? I’ve never personally felt that any of my interactions with management or peers to be anything but genuine and honest
