Great people and a relaxed working environment. I appreciate the time people take to work together on a project. No egos whatsoever.

My commute was my only problem as I was at least an hour away by car. Other than that, I don't have much to complain about.

1. Hotwire is not a tech or a product driven organization. We are a Data driven organization. All the tech changes we do are backed with a ‘Why’. We just finished 2 large tech projects - AWS migration to save costs and Flex migration to improve productivity. We don’t do Tech just because it is cool; we only do it if it helps our customers and our bottom line. 2. We had bunch of layoffs 2 years ago but that doesn’t makes us a bad place. All organizations go through their ups and downs. This place has been built back since and we have hired 50+ engineers since then. Some of the old timers feel the pressure of change and have left as the new leadership is bringing its own transformation. This is expected with any transformation. 3. Culture is what each individual experiences in an organization. Google has been the best employer for years but we had heard some bad stories in the last few years. Does It make a bad place? My experience at Hotwire has been amazing where we Celebrate the smallest of wins and learn to move on from every failure. 4. Our business has been doing well since last 2 years which has led to generous bonus and stock payouts. 5. We are a smaller organization and things can be crazy at times. It is that fun of working for a startup but we also have sense of security under the big Expedia banner.
