Pluspunten

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Flexible working hours. Fast paced environment where people are interested in doing it the right way and want to put in the extra effort to get it right. Clock-watching doesn't happen. Good bike-to-work and public transport schemes. Everyone works together as a team, regardless of hierarchy. Excellent culture within the organisation means staff bond and socialise together after work.

Minpunten

Poor pay scales and short contracts makes it difficult to retain staff. University should value the centre more and introduce incentives to keep and value staff.

Location and hybrid working are the only pros.

In recent years, ICHEC has become operationally inept and developed a cold uneasy/paranoid working environment. Rude, confrontational and sometimes threatening management style in Operations. Exclusively male management and poor gender diversity as a whole. It lacks integrity and has completely lost its original culture and values. If any, it is a slow, difficult and unsupported process for career progression and I have only witnessed men progress. Empty contractual promises for recruitment and vulnerability in employment, job insecurity at all times.
