It is only since starting my current role that I can truly recognise how poor the manchester office was managed. The senior management team are egotiscical and so far removed from the day to day activity on the floor it is laughable. You only seem to be able to progress if you are “in” with the management team and favouritism is rife. People are encouraged to falsify data and figures and carry out underhand tactics to make revenue and productivity look much better than they are. When the office is not performing managers choose to bark orders and scream and shout to “get the best out of people”. It is ran like a dictatorship rather than a team effort. There is no support from line managers - I personally spent 6 months just trying to get my manager to sit down with me to discuss my progress. People will often be given responsibilities which are an addition to their role but they rarely receive more money or better benefits. Instead people are worked into the ground until they quit. It is astonishing how much the company has deteriorated over the last 12 months as prior to this I really felt the company was going places. Unfortunately a change in leadership at both director and CEO level have driven this office into the ground.
