The way IRIS Software has treated its staff since the pandemic began is nothing short of shocking. I and 20+ others were culled from the business with no notice earlier this week in the form of a Microsoft Teams call. I had been with IRIS for over a decade and had been one of the top performers across my division for most of that period. Over time, the business has become less concerned with it's people and more concerned with pumping up the prices of their software and services. Customer retention and satisfaction is decreasing over time and the board is not doing anything about it. Customer's who are experiencing genuine issues with their business critical software are being actively ignored and their problems being left to fester. The new CSO, Chris Smith, was hired and gave a promise of honesty and openness upon his arrival. He then made an executive decision to end the business quarter 3 days early to preserve the business having to pay out as much commission. His version of honesty and openness was to let Managers cascade this decision down to sales and allow them to take the brunt of it rather than putting out a formal communication hisself. 22 members of staff have been left without a job this week while the business gloats about bringing new staff through the academy on social media. IRIS are so bothered about APPEARING to be a massive, caring company on social media that they're completely forgetting to live up to the expectation. Not only that but they are now pumping out fake 5 star reviews on Glass Door to cancel out the negative reviews. Do me a favour if you're reading this - order the reviews by 'Most Recent' and notice that 3 5 star reviews were published on 29th July, the day after a negative review was posted. Before that, two reviews had never been written on the same day. Do you think this is a coincidence? Absolutely not, it's IRIS Software doing something called damage limitation.

I am very sorry that you have been affected by the recent restructure in our Sales organisation and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Regrettably, we have recently had to consider small-scale redundancies due to the impact of Covid-19 and associated operational changes. The meeting you mention was simply the start of a full consultation period with each individual to consider alternative options, suggest other roles within IRIS, answer questions and provide suitable support. This consultation period is run over the course of weeks/months and only concludes once all other avenues have been considered. Whenever a redundancy is confirmed, we always fund outplacement support and frequently offer ex-gratia packages in addition to statutory pay to help them into their next chapter. We are always sorry to lose colleagues and friends and make every effort to treat every employee with the dignity and compassion they rightly deserve. The recent day-early quarter close was designed to support accurate forecasting and customer delivery experience (rather than to reduce payments!) and certainly didn’t impact the overall commission employees receive – all closed deals are always eligible for commission. There have been many changes within Sales to give everyone the best opportunities for success and we have done our upmost to share the benefits and been transparent about the impact of the changes on a regular basis. Throughout these changes, our Chief Sales Officer, held weekly ‘All Sales’ calls in addition to specific announcement calls to make sure that the changes were discussed and opportunities afforded to ask and receive answers to questions and make suggestions as part of the process. As a company of 1,500 employees, we recognise that employees will have different experiences of working at IRIS – this will naturally lead to a variety of views represented on platforms such as Glassdoor. We always encourage employees to provide us with honest feedback on an ongoing basis through a variety of channels (for example during our monthly company updates, dedicated employee feedback inbox and regular surveys), and Glassdoor is another avenue for such feedback. We aim to engage meaningfully with each Glassdoor review we receive (good and bad) and always encourage our reviewers to reach out to us directly so we can resolve any issues constructively through an open conversation, rather than the limited ‘review and one response’ available on Glassdoor. Pluspunten

I have been with Iris for approximately 5 months and have been incredibly impressed. The people I work with from my peers, leadership (including executive leadership) and my team, are amazing. Building relationships has been easy as most of the employees are open to it, are very collaborative and genuinely want to help! Iris is also focused on equality and ensure we all have a fair opportunity for growth. While we have a lot to do here, it is clear that we are valued.

Minpunten

As a rapidly growing organization, we have some growing pains and some foundational processes, systems and flow that need to be updated and/or adjusted, but nothing that won't be fixed over time.
