The message: You are here for our entertainment. There were no VPs, directors or managers to stand up and say this is a bad idea. Low morale. I believe my department head would do anything asked of them no matter how degrading. Be ready to conform - don't have different ideas. 24/7 work expectation without compensation to match. Associates told to use back entrance all the time.
