freedom to choose your schedule (also look at cons, for the limitation to this measly pro)
Minpunten
cons: - "freely choose your schedule" however one particular manager at insight will either call or email you complaining that your "availability" isn't good enough, and that you need to work evenings too (busiest shifts) - management at this company is extremely top-heavy in my opinion they can easily cut 5+ and spend that money on hiring tech-level employees. - site leads don't care about you, they will leave you to do all of the work while they hide away in the office reading emails, honestly, I can't even put my feelings into a list of cons... here has been my experience so far.... Insight is VERY BUSY (in x-ray), we have been asking management to bring on extra staff on the busier sites and they won't do it? Idk why, insight plays the blind eye to our problems. In addition to not caring about the staff, Guess what!? Insight has recently changed a few of the protocols to include more x-rays (to make $$$MAKE MORE MONEY!!$$) and of course, we did not get any new staff to compensate for the additional workload. next up! Insight has recently increased the number of bookings per day, basically. instead of doing patients at 20-minute intervals we brought that number down to 15-minuite intervals, so more work, same number of staff and GUESS WHAT!??? that means $$$MORE MONEY $$$ for insight! FUN FACT!!! In x-ray each, most clinics will have 2 or 3 techs, but sometimes that third "tech" whose title is "site lead" will magically have "important emails" at the busiest hours of the day. BONUS FACT!!! Imagine all of that, with the addition of a coworker (whose friends with the site lead) playing that same game.... oh "I need to talk to the manager about some made up reason. On an average 8-hour shift, expect the following: Arrive at 08:00 Start your first case at 08:01 OPTION 1: Take turns doing cases with another tech until about 0900 OPTION 2: Work alone while the "site lead" is reading emails OPTION 3: Work alone while your co-worker abandons you to "talk to the manager" Work your but off until 11:30-12:00 OPTION 1: split your break during the busy hours of the clinic (usually 11-1pm) OPTION 2: work alone while the site lead and your coworker take break at the same time. OPTION 3: your site lead and coworkers show up late after their break and you go on your break at 1pm after you completed all of the cases. come back from your break at 1230-1pm OPTION 1: take turns doing cases with your coworkers. OPTION 2: notice how you coworker must deal with something urgent, coincidently when a busy case arrives. OPTION 3: manager apologizes for this morning; she had a lot of emails to catch up on :) end of your shift option 1: you did 35-45 cases, while your coworkers did 20 option 2: you did 30 and your coworkers did 30 option 3: you'd want to leave this place.
