Senior management often makes decisions without consulting lower staff, creating significant problems for employees who must grapple with the resulting consequences. High turnover rates and a lack of action from upper management to fill vacancies result in increased workloads for remaining staff. There are limited internal growth opportunities since the management team is content with the status quo. The company's claims regarding diversity are often misleading, such as the fact that despite a predominantly female office staff, only one out of eight VP's are women. HR likes to flaunt their NC 99 awards but always side with the company/upper management when it comes to managing internal issues. For example, HR repeatedly denied requests to voluntarily add pronouns to email signatures. Finally, some perks, such as summer hours, only benefit salaried employees since hourly staff must still fulfill the 40-hour weekly requirement.
