Some engineering managers are highly immature and political when it comes to people management. This is attributed to the fact that they do not have prior management background and are brought in by someone higher up in the company.
They like to spread rumors about engineers and people from other departments. If you do not agree with them, you will be kept outside of their inner circle and be criticized. What's even more upsetting is that the engineering leaders would mock the leaders in other departments, thinking that they do not deserve so-and-so titles. This is certainly not the right kind of quality we'd like to see in leaders in this company.
