Minpunten
-Work life balance is hard at any brokerage. With trucks over the road 24/7 you are expected to work whenever you are needed by your customers. We have a night dispatch team that assists with checking on your trucks but weekend and afterhours work from home IS 100% going to happen regularly if you plan on making good money here. - The market is tough right now and every brokerage is looking for new business. Don't expect to be an overnight success. It will take about 7-10 months on average to begin making commission and another few months to establish your book of business. -The job (like many sales positions) feels like a lot of luck, since you will see other find success around you with less work, but if you do enough outreach, you CAN succeed. It will feel almost impossible at times so if you are prone to quit when it gets hard, frankly, look for an easier job. -You will feel drained after work every day for about 6+ months (in my experience) due to the overload of stimulus, conversations, problems, stress and more you deal with day to day. I even still feel this way after certain days. - I get hyper focused easily, so I have been hyper focused on this job for the past year, I've seen success from it, but it definitely takes away time from everything else in my life. If you plan on having an eventful life outside of work during the work week and also being hyper successful, good luck! - After establishing yourself with consistent business, you just kind of feel like a fire-fighter... Just putting out fires (issues) whenever they arise. But that is why brokers have jobs! -Coffee from their machines is just not the best (lol) - Not at all a relaxed position when you are grinding to hit sales goals/prospecting numbers. But that's just sales...
