Minpunten

First, about two weeks into my time here, I was asked to also work part-time at the CEO's other sister company in the same role for account manager.. I took it to be a team player, and since I was new, I didn't want to tell the "boss" no. That came to bite me in the rear end. Three weeks into working here, he chewed me out in front of everyone on a call because I had two calls scheduled at the same time for both companies. My onboarding and training were the worst. I had a total of three people training me: one from the sister company and two from this one. All three were the worst individuals you could have transitioning accounts and being able to train someone. My training was disjointed, unproductive, and never cohesive. They never gave me constructive criticism ( more on this). They just let things happen and threw me to the sharks. Meetings with clients were all over the place, and there was never a set schedule to actually meet them and get familiar with the client. They use the most dated CRM you will ever see. You have to get a VPN and log on to this virtual shared desktop with this clunky CRM the owner prides himself on. There is no HR, and the CEO is basically the HR/ COO; he's the biggest micromanager you'll ever meet. You must RSVP to every meeting, respond in the company chat to "check-in," show non-verbal communication when in meetings, and you must make a note that you emailed him in their CRM even though an email is proof you emailed someone. I have never been more demeaned by any other supervisor than him. My first 90 days went like this, and I'm not even joking: I emailed clients I have never met because my predecessors were too lazy to set them up, had random meetings with clients and not given an opportunity to give input, work with the company they outsource all of the marketing to, yes, they don't even do their own marketing, what kind of "marketing agency" outsources all of its marketing...this one. I had meetings each week with that company, basically just telling them what the client wants, and you are the middleman. I never got to talk about actual data or the actual progress of the accounts with the client; it's all handled by the third-party agency. I just had to facilitate the meetings and don't forget I had to do this for both of his companies. At no point did he show appreciation for this. I also wasn't paid extra, he wanted it to be a 50/50 situation even though my workload was way more than he even realized. They didn't realize this because nobody knows what anyone does or how complicated it is. The CEO always schedules meetings for exactly 50 minutes, and I have no clue why. It's odd, and he always stretches it beyond what is needed. He would send 2 min videos of things that could easily be an email. Understand this, and I mean it; he would see something, no matter how insignificant, go back and shoot a 2-minute video of it, and send it to you, waiting for a response. He complains he is so busy, but him doing stuff like that is why. He just fills up his workday with nonsense just to say he's busy. He is always posting religious quotes in the company chat, but he's the worst example of a Christian man, in my honest opinion. I have never had a god-fearing man treat me the way I was at this company. I was let go when a few clients complained, and instead of helping me navigate my extremely busy schedule, all of my supervisors threw me under the bus even after one of them knew how busy I was and even told me she wanted to give me more clients. Instead of accepting, they failed at even attempting to understand my unique hybrid role...THAT I WAS DOING TO HELP THE CEO. They didn't just turn their backs on me; they stabbed me in the back and ran and told the CEO on me. This company is garbage, and the way it's built won't last, especially based on the fact they outsource most of their marketing. If, at any point, the agency they use just usurps them and takes their business or another, it is game over. The websites are mostly Wix anyway, with a handful of WordPress. They don't stand out; they are just in a niche nobody cares about...for now.
