The culture and camaraderie within the UX department were great. The same can be said for the majority of PMs and POs involved with the projects.

Minpunten

It is a large company and difficult to achieve positive changes in how work gets done from a UX point of view. Upper management seems to be misguided on how to produce a great product, and there are also market pressures that get in the way.

Decent pay, good PTO and benefits

Everything else. ZERO training. They hand you a laptop (which is garbage) and say good luck. There is no "team." Everyone is on their own. The senior techs all reached their peak 20 years ago and don't even know what BACnet is. The bureaucracy is unbearable. Ordering a simple part is nearly impossible. There are so many apps you have to check in on everyday and they care more about those metrics than they care about the service their customers are receiving. If you want to get your butt kicked everyday with zero support at a company that specializes in taking advantage of their customers, this is the job for you.
